The in-game currency Gold is essential for purchasing gear, consumables, and crafting materials. It also allows players to access new abilities and dungeons.

Herbalism and Mining are both excellent sources of Gold in WoW. They are gathering professions that provide a steady income through resource collection.

Skinning beasts and selling their leather is another consistent source of Gold in WoW. Additionally, Alchemy is a great way to make money by flipping high-demand items on the Auction House.

1. The Stockade Dungeon

Many WoW players farm The Stockade Dungeon a lot. It’s a level-23-25 dungeon inside the Alliance capital city of Stormwind, and it offers some really good loot. It’s a popular dungeon for both Druids and Mages, but Hunters can also do quite well here. You can find groups to do it in discord or different WoW subreddits.

This dungeon has two quests that make it very worthwhile, Quell The Uprising and Crime and Punishment. The former is picked up from Warden Thelwater in Stormwind, and it requires you to slay the Defias thugs scattered around The Stockade. Once you’ve killed all the thugs, you can complete the quest by looting the Head of Bazil Thredd from him. He’s a level 29 Elite with basic tank-and-spank abilities.

This dungeon is also a great place to grind Dark Iron Ordinance, which sells for a good amount of gold at the Auction House. You can collect it from the level 28 elite mobs in the northeastern portion of Wetlands.

2. The Swamp of Sorrows

Known for its low-level cloth drops, the Swamp of Sorrows is a gold farming paradise. Blackpaw Gnolls, easily farmable for their lower level and fast respawn times, are located in the misty swamp. They drop linen cloth, which is valuable for tailors. Also, they occasionally drop a rare undead mob called Defias, which drops vendor trash and low-level items.

Other types of mobs in the Swamp of Sorrows can also be a good source of gold, such as Scalding Whelps found in the northeast Badlands, who drop Small Flame Sac and a pet, Tiny Crimson Whelpling. They also have a high chance to drop wool cloth.

This is a great zone for Alchemists, too, since it has plenty of reagents and other consumables that can be sold to players. Besides these, it has a large number of level 24-25 elite mobs that can be killed for gold. These are often referred to as the best gold farms for SoD, especially by players who are new to the game.

3. Alterac Mountains

The Alterac Mountains are a popular location for buy sod gold farming because of the high amounts of materials they contain. For example, the dust devils in the northwest area of the zone drop a lot of leather, which is valuable for players with the professions that require it. In addition to that, the worms in this zone drop rare items that sell well on the Auction House.

Other materials found in the Alterac Mountains include Elemental Air and Magic Dust from the Circle of West Binding, Thundering Charms from the Arathi Highlands near Stromgarde Keep, and Solid Stones from the Ruins of Alterac located throughout the zone. These are all items that sell for a good amount of gold on the AH.

The ruins also contain Dark Iron Ordinance, which is an item that drops from elite mobs and can be difficult to acquire for some classes. Nevertheless, this is a great place to farm for SoD gold because of the low competition and fast respawns.

4. Tanaris

A classic gold farming zone that is good for leatherworkers. The mobs here drop low-level leather (that can be sold for a profit) and meat (for cooking recipes). In addition, the local turtles will give you tons of Turtle Scales and Big-Mouth Clams, which are valuable BoE items.

Another great place for Skinners in SoD, as the rare Defias mob here drops a variety of valuable cloth, as well as vendor trash. Lastly, the rare treant mob here has a chance to drop elemental drops.

Additionally, if you have an addon that allows you to find chests, this zone contains a number of Solid Chests. These can contain Mithril Ore and Mithril Bars, both of which sell for a decent amount on the AH. Using these items to make gold will allow you to buy the materials you need for crafting, as well as high-level gear. However, don’t rely on these items to make huge amounts of money, as Blizzard is constantly watching for bots and other third-party software.
